Farm Kitchen Bakery is pleased to announce it's new owners, Tadao & Tifanie Mitsui owners of Heyday Farm. Heyday Farm is a family run 6-acre farm located on the south end of Bainbridge Island. They grow and sell farm fresh food, offer farm to table events, professional and family retreats for our island community and visitors near and far who want to understand, experience and celebrate our region and the food they produce. Farm Kitchen Bakery takes up residence in Heyday's rustic barn and commercial kitchen. Several longtime bakery favorites are, in a sense, “returning home.” Hollis Fay created her Famous 8-Grain Pullaparts in the mid-‘80s at Bainbridge Bakers in Winslow Green along with many of her other treats born originally on Bainbridge. The Spiral Galaxy butter-filled, cinnamon-swirledShortbread Cookies that are another popular treat, were named in a Bainbridge Bakers customer contest!
In 2016, Hollis and Anne Thatcher established the Farm Kitchen Bakery as a robust wholesale business serving local groceries and other retail outlets, cafes and coffee shops. This business grew from years spent cultivating the Farm Kitchen event space, commercial kitchen, gardens and guest house in Poulsbo, WA.
As the Bakery moves to its new home at another beautiful farm, Hollis and Anne are thrilled to pass the rolling pins on to Tadao and team. Hollis and Anne are looking forward to long-delayed camping excursions, and Hollis is eager to get her early-20th century printing press back in working order, while she also 3-D prints fun new creations. They will be sure to stop by the local shops to pick up the occasional Pullapart, Ginger Bar or Chocolate Chip Cookie in happy reflection on the adventure that was Farm Kitchen.
